Training Consistency

Fitness training consistency not only helps us achieve our physical appearance goals, but it helps with the reduction of stress and anxiety, improved overall physical and mental health, and helps reduce chronic diseases. By being consistent in all aspects of our training, from the time of day that we train, to the type of training that we do on those days is one of the keys to being successful with any training program.

The more often we do something, the more likely we are going to continue doing it, whether it is a good or a bad habit. Making Fitness training some we do consistently will help reduce it being a struggle. We will find it easier to train more often and eventually it will become a habit — where we feel like we are missing something if we don’t get our Fitness ‘fix’ for the week.

It is human nature to avoid pain and finding Fitness training a chore is a pain that we will seek to avoid. This will result in missed training days and eventually refraining from training altogether.

Consistency delivers the results at the end of the day, faster than irregular training sessions, where we might put more effort in, but not return to the gym for a week or two.

Consistency also allows us to do less and achieve more. This happens because we can make small improvements when we are training regularly and the combined results of these small improvements build up to bigger gains in the long term.

Consistency allows us to gradually increase our strength, endurance, flexibility, and overall Fitness level over time. This progressive improvement helps us achieve our Fitness goals and maintain them.  This is particularly important as we age, as consistent training can help maintain bone density, Muscle mass, and overall physical function.

Training consistently is important for many reasons… here are few of my highlighted reasons:

  1. Improved physical health: Regular exercise can improve cardiovascular health, increase Muscle strength and endurance, improve flexibility and balance, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and certain types of cancer.

  2. Improved mental health: Exercise is known to release endorphins, which are natural mood-boosting chemicals that can help reduce feelings of anxiety and depression. Regular exercise can also improve cognitive function and memory.

  3. Weight management: Regular exercise can help maintain a healthy weight or support weight loss goals by increasing calorie expenditure and reducing body fat.

  4. Increased energy and productivity: Regular exercise can increase energy levels, reduce fatigue, and improve overall productivity.

  5. Long-term benefits: Consistent Fitness training can help maintain physical health and prevent age-related decline in physical abilities.

Overall, training consistently is important because it provides numerous physical and mental health benefits that can improve quality of life and promote longevity.
